Re: Reinforcement

If your talking reinforcement in the context of a fillet weld then it plays a huge part. Do you have the template gauges for measuring fillet welds? https://weldingsupply.com/cgi-bin/einstein.pl?PNUM::1:UNDEF:X:MG-11 I am talking specifically of Groove Welds. Some clients ask specifically to remove...

Re: Reinforcement

Mind explaining a bit more? Like you are doing groove welding(V groove) and you have joined the test coupons. After the final pass you get the reinforcement on weld about 2-3 mm. So the question is ,Is it necessary to remove the reinforcement. Does the reinforcement has any role to play in the join...

Residual Filler Wire

Is it possible to join residual filler wire of Inconel 825 used in TIG welding. After joining the filler wire using the TIG torch, will it affect the weldability, properties of the weld material.
Thinking of putting that as a continual Improvement but concerned . :!:

Re: Correlation of chemical composition with mechanical prop

@ Shastri11 - start by reviewing this tech sheet on Martensitic 410 Stainless . Your purported through-hardness value of 170 BHN is below the avg for 410SS, most likely owing to your reduced (from 0.15%) Carbon content of 0.12%. Typical avg values achieved for hardened/tempered 410SS are 200 BHN (3...

Welding SS 304 with SS 310

What kind of electrode i shall use for welding SS304 to SS310?
I used E310 to join 310 with 304 but it induces crack instantly.
Please guide me through.

Re: Purpose of All weld test

I mean to say the purpose of all weld test sample . That does not help. You are not describing a test we are familiar with, with language we know. Describe the test. Is it on pipe? Is it on plate? What process are you going to use? What position is it in? Steve S I mean to say the tensile test samp...

Chattering sound in 7018

While we were welding WCB material we hardly got chattering sound while welding. But this one batch of 7018 rods we procured is producing this chattering sound plus there are lots of spatters. The electrical characteristics we used are same as the previous one.

Do PMI(positive material identification) if you want to know which grade it is. Else using 309,309l would be a good option.
