Just got the furick 12 tried it out on some 1/8" stainless really good gas coverage Nice looking fillet there, is the Furick a 1" cup? I believe it is 3/4". Will measure tomorrow. First time giving it a shot had the stick out way out and seemed to still cover good was at about 25cfh

Re: Advice on dime stacking

jeff get some new 4043 maybe you have a bad batch. craig I believe I do. I have tried balancing it out, speeding up my travel, using less heat, you name it. From what I hear that 4943 is better but my LWS doesn't have it. Maybe time to roadtrip to HTP/USAweld What you have your balence at? I have a...

Re: Advice on dime stacking

Practice practice and more practice, great video Jody has about just running beads. Get a piece of 1/8" aluminum and just run beads on it. Play around spacing when you add filler and just practice. Aluminum you can just run beads on beads. The pic is 1/8" thick using 3/32 filler

Re: 1/4" aluminum weld

The pieces were small. 5"X1" 1/4" thick. Took a few hits with the hamer I know the heat build up is a lot on the small pieces it was just some scrap I had laying around. If I put more heat into it would become a melted mess. Had the machine at 150 herz then tried it around 230. With 6...

Re: tungsten sharpener

Update got the new sharpener last week. Very nice machine can adjust the angle from 10-60 degrees. And puts a real nice point and finish on the tungsten. The only thing I would like it to be able to sharpen 1/8" tungsten. But I bought it knowing that.
