Re: Running 5P+ on a lincoln square wave 200

Thanks.
I guess I'll spend some serious practice time with 6011 and maybe some 7018, then come back & try 6010. From what I've read, I won't be surprised if Oscar is right.

Lincoln Square Wave TIG 200 vs 6010?

Has anyone else had trouble with 6010 on the Lincoln Tig 200?

I've read that some inverters don't play well with 6010. I assume any trouble I have is due to the fact that I'm a beginner and don't know what I'm doing, but maybe not this time?

Miller 211 vs Lincoln Power mig 210

I'm planning to upgrade from my Millermatic 135 mig machine, and am undecided between the Miller 211 and the Lincoln Power mig 210 (maybe others I don't know about. I don't want to go too far over $1000.00. (Side note: I have a Square Wave 200, so the tig feature of the Power Mig 200 isn't important...

Re: What polarity for tig aluminum

Motoenginerring---Thanks for the explanation. It seems clear now. Rick---I have a Lincoln Square Wave TIG 200, new just a few days ago. I've been pretty busy, so I only have a few minutes on the machine. I'm new to welding, so I will spent running beads on thin steel for a while. I appreciate all th...

What polarity for tig aluminum

Dumb newbie question:

When welding aluminum AC, is the torch connected to positive or negative? I know the polarity alternates, but with AC balance changes, I would think it would matter.

Thanks.

Re: Continuous gas flow?

Solved;

When i first encountered the problem, I had not installed the consumables in the torch. I tried again with everything in place, ready to weld, and it worked as it is supposed to. I guess the solenoid needed little back pressure to work.

Continuous gas flow?

I just bought a Lincoln Square Wave 200, but have not yet struck an arc. When I set it up, I turned on the gas, and it flowed continuously, even though there was no arc. Is this right?

Thanks from a beginner.
