Re: Tungsten Spitting, Is It Just Due To Over-Amping Tungste

Hey,

Thanks for that, Poland.

Maybe it was nothing that deserved much of my concern then.

Tungsten Spitting, Is It Just Due To Over-Amping Tungsten Si

Yeah, Aluminum TIG welding is still pretty new for me, and on the last small project I did fabricating a diamond plate shroud, which I included on a video, there was a moment that seemed like I dipped the tungsten, but I kept motoring on, so to speak. But upon completion of that weld, the tungsten w...

Re: Mig/tig

Yeah, I'd say that was pretty good advice, especially if you think you'll want to do some AC TIG on aluminum, which a DC MIG/TIG won't allow. And, even with the optional wiring and TIG acessories for a LE 210, it still won't be a high frequency arc starting TIG macine on DC. I'd just get a 200 amp, ...

Re: Pulsing between AC and DCEN

Wow, That was helpful, as I have an Everlast 210EXT with the Advanced AC/DCEN Pulse feature, but I never really knew what to do with it or if it was design more for thick or thin aluminum. And your setting of the Pulse Amps at 100% was interesting in how it was for the DC, which seems ideal there fo...

Re: ChuckE2009 , what happened to this channel???

Yeah, Oscar, I didn’t really watch any YouTube videos until a few years ago, when I decided that I’d upgrade to an AC-capable TIG machine. Now that I think about it, I may not have had an internet connection that was good enough for streaming video until then. And I think I recall having trouble wit...

Re: Completely over-engineered welding cart.

Nice one! It doesn't seem over-engineer or inelegant to me, as its obviously designed to do exactly what you want and not much more or less. I might have even been tempted to put one more shelf above the units. I like your choice of having the ability to put at least two units on the top shelf while...

Re: Hi and request help with purchase decision ??

The AHP AlphaTIG has all of the features of the LE and Everlast 200DV, at nearly half the price of either ($750, delivered, via Amazon). So, that's what I usually recommend for a proven, best-value, 200 amp AC/DC TIG machine at any price, unless you want more advanced features, like wave forms, memo...

Re: The what I welded today (/whenever) thread (pics please)

Just did this. It’s nothing glamorous, just a lowering of an existing plate by about 1” on the front end of a zero-turn mower, to enable it to accept a new placement for a battery there, which the blue body panel wouldn’t otherwise allow. BattShelf.jpg The plate and that little added flange aren’t i...

Re: Small portable welding table

Nice! That propping apparutus is a clever touch. It looks like you have some space constraints too. A compact welding table was a first project for me when I upgraded to an AC/DC TIG unit, since nothing off-the-shelf really suited my purpose as well. The metal brake is a new addition to it. Compact....

Hey,

That's a pretty ambitious and functional project for a new welder, and it's a clever solution for keeping a garage less smokey.

Nice job on it, too!

Re: Shrinking Left Hand TIG Glove Fingers

You know, I was just talking to a neighbor and telling him about a former girlfriend of mine with one breast quite a bit larger than the other, not that I minded, of course. He told me his ex-wife was that way too. He then went on to say how one of his shoe sizes was a half-size different than the o...

Re: Suggestions

Oh, Right, that Everlast 256Si, AC/DC TIG/Stick/Plasma has a lot of functionality and value. My first TIG unit was a generic, DC-only, TIG/Stick/Plasma unit that was great. But a couple of years ago I upgraded to an AC/DC unit so I could do aluminum TIG too. 250 amp units are pretty high output for ...

Re: Suggestions

As much as I like Everlast, take a look at the inverter-based Miller Syncrowave 210 AC/DC TIG unit, which also does MIG via a spoolgun.

There's no other off-the-shelf unit at the moment that can do AC/DC TIG and MIG via a spoolgun like the Syncrowave 210, that I know of.

Yeah, The Everlast website is slow to be updated. Otherwise, who knows, maybe ChuckE2009 will see this thread and give a response about "what" he's doing with his YouTube Channel lately, which the original poster seemed to be curious about. I was just speculating for the sake of dialog. I ...

Re: ChuckE2009 , what happened to this channel???

Sure, All of the YouTube videos about new Miller or Everlast welding units are obviously promotional in nature, and which gives new units exposure. And, yeah, it's easy to see the difference between them and when a machine review is given by an end-users, retail customers, or others. I mean, Jody Co...

Re: ChuckE2009 , what happened to this channel???

I think it's nice that ChuckE2009 is doing what he's doing. And most eveything he does goes beyond just an unboxing of a welder unit, to include a practical demonstration of the unit welding. But, yeah, unboxing of units is not my favorite part. But he does get a lot of flak about not being the most...

Re: Shrinking Left Hand TIG Glove Fingers

Yeah,

Years ago I'd have heavier gloves that shrank pretty quickly around Oxy torches and Stick welding.

But with dainty stuff I do now, and with these loose fitting gloves, I was a little surprised how the filler hand glove shrank the most.

I've enjoyed these Tillman gloves for a couple years, I think its been. They don and doff quickly, and hold up pretty well. Re: Looking for my first welder! Suggestions?

Oh, I see. That is surprisingly low sounding. Often there is also an unpublished "inrush" current, which is briefly higher than the operating current, but with your 40 amp circuit that will certainily be no problem. Good luck! No the current draw on this 230v 180a DC Mig welder is 20a. I h...
