Re: Whats the deal over at Welding Web?
I didn't even have to log in, was greeted with the "you haven't posted in several weeks" message. Although there are yipee its back threads most of the forums are last year. Gee I wonder if the Russians were responsible .

The Hobart forum is still as dead as a door nail. They haven't had much activity since they started blocking porn spambots a few months ago.

I reread the OP and you are probably right, he said it has started to trip the breaker, I take that as meaning it didn't before. His plan to rewire is sound any ways.Poland308 wrote:Breakers will get weak over time, especially if your concistantly drawing over 80% of there rated capacity.

Re: miller mig leder issue
Does your welder have to share any of those 20amps with anything else? Do you have lights and a stereo running off of that circuit, maybe a shop refridge on it also? For metal working I have dedicated circuits that allow me to weld and grind or run my drill press with nothing else drawing while in o...

Re: MIG with flux core and gas
I have found using 100% co2 with my 210 MVP welder to work just fine. I have gotten very little spatter when I get it dialed in and the cost of a 20lb bottle and a 10LB spool of .030 wire to be less than the cost of Lincoln or Hobart flux core. I'm on my next spool and still have plenty of gas left.

Re: Looking for mig welder soon
I have the HH210, I bought it last Nov. it has a metal drive roll assembly and while it is quite heavy I don't carry it around in my shop. My cart has wheels. I purchased mine at Mills fleet farm and it was on sale plus I signed up for a credit card and got another 10% off so the total price was 675...

Yes that makes sense, I will end up cutting 2 strips of 1/4" 6" long and splint front and back for extra reinforcement.

Give this video a watch and see if it doesn't help your technique- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHBanmfn_CA&list=PLiWyrw3cO53Fy7Y6q9XtO0WmdFavcfzKw I've watched that video before, I'm just curious if doing that would be necessary with heavy walled square tubing. I invision one side not being...

My new project is for a log skidder/ boom arm for the 3 pt hitch on my tractor. I am using 3" heavy walled sq tubing. I have the 25" cross piece all capped and am ready to weld the upright too it. Should I notch the end of the upright or could I get by with filling in the gap from the roun...

I feel your pain, being self taught I have laid very few beads I would share on the internet.
Most have held quite well and I love to make stuff out of steel, but I would not buy anything made by me.

I have a project in mind for my tractor. I want to weld on hooks to my bucket like these http://www.boltonhooks.com/weld-on.html and I was wondering if it calls for an initial root pass and then a cover pass? I will be welding them to 1/4" hot rolled using my HH210MVP, .035 wire and co2 for shi...

Do you want to waste 200 bucks or make a 400 dollar investment? In the area that I live in the closest Miller service center will honor the warranty work on Hobart machines bought from a Fleet Farm store. That makes it a better deal than an Everlast in my book. Best to stay away from most harbor fre...

I'm no expert but I was also wondering about gas flow. I've a bit of experience with FCAW since 1998 but I'm new to GMAW. The big adjustment was with being able to see around the mig nozzle, the flux core nozzle is so much easier to see around. I played with my welders a bit and just settled on the ...

Re: Metal Man Welding Helmet and Hobart Handler 140.
Hobart welders to me are a great hobby machine and I have found that even if you bought it at a big box store a Miller service center will honor the warranty and work on it if you need it. That I found out this last year with my new 210 MVP that came with the wheel drive defective. Fixed in a day fr...

I worked for the BNSF RR for 41 years. When some bean counter decided to move a maintenance facility somewhere else on the system they just scrapped everything and moved. They did that years ago with a roadway facility in St. Cloud Mn and part of what they scrapped where brand new still in the crate...

I'm just a hobbiest, and I have a lot of hobbys. Back in the 90s I needed a shop and tools to be able to maintain a classic British motorcycle plus for doing maintenance on my cars. I bought a Lincoln 100 amp wire feed and a set of torches, bought a oxy bottle and propane cutting tips for the torch ...

I've watched most of his vids, he reminds me of the late Billy Mays. I wish him luck, but I mostly consider him just a shill for who ever is helping him out with freebies and cash. At one time when AHP was a big sponsor the Alpha Mig 250 was the greatest thing since sliced bread, until HTP, now you ...

Re: Looking for my first welder! Suggestions?
This is just from my own personnel experience but if you buy a Hobart machine from a big box store and have need of service while under warranty you can get the work done at a Miller service center rather then boxing it up and sending it back. Any machine is prone to some kind of problem since they ...

Re: 110 volt flux core amazed
The weld pac 100 is my first machine and I still have it. I recently bought a Hobart 210 MVP but I'm going to keep the little Lincoln and dedicate it to .023 wire and C25 for sheet metal and the Hobart will be dedicated to C02 and heavier wire. I bought the Lincoln in 98 and it has held up quite well.
