Some p91 field weld OD prep for phaser ray this is a power house main steam line. The system runs at 1950 degrees at 2400 psi. The weld shot good time for drinks!

Green time- I have a network of people with many more years of knowledge then my self that I can call. a machine shop I do some side work for had a book of aluminum alloy and info on them ( as applies to machining) . Anyone know or seen a alloy reference guide? where you can look up an alloy find out what wire to use and other info such as per heat temp or weldability .

Hi, I'm on a project at work and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. We are building a pressure vessel out of 5/8inch, 516-70 plate and need to weld it all with metal core wire. I own a mp210 iv ran this machine threw it's paces. I bought my machine to work for a week and build a steam header with it on 110v mainly tig welding with it. Hours and hours on 110v tig and stick welding I love this welder! All welder were x-rayed as per code.

Congrats poland308 on making a test! Iv done my fair share of r stamp work and I'm always amazed on how much paper is involved.

I weld aluminum about 95 percent of the time. Anosized aluminum is about 75 percent of that. We use wooden tables to prevent scratches. Grounding is done inside the pipe with an insulator. There has been a discussion about aluminum shavings on the table causing arc marks on the workpiece. There are...

Ok this one was not today but I wanted to share it. This was at a nuclear plant on the turbine deck (so no radiation that's why I had my phone)

Well on this Friday we get back on our tig rigs 4" sch 40 70s6 ( not my favorite wire for carbon) welding under code 31.3

Maybe not glamorous to you but involves serious skill and experience. Good job! Now you have to elaborate on process and procedure used please. the welding process is smaw (stick) we use 7018 for the vessel. This weld is a code or stamped weld it will be QCed under 31.12 boiler code ( no under cut ...
