Re: An article about "The Certified Welder"

Gerald, I read the article and a bunch of the other ones on your blog. Putting aside the "certified" aspect I find the QC dynamic of welding to be a very interesting aspect of the whole industry. To give a little background, I am a union iron worker in the NE, so every welder that comes ou...

Re: What am I doing wrong?

Thanks I don't have any other pics. I'm going to work on it again later this week so I'll get more pics then. The root and fill all look good. No excessive undercut, nice even puddle, no voids. Re: What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the input. I was thinking about it a little more and I was running my cap when the plate was still pretty hot. Re: 6010 uphill.. Frustrating

Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk That seems a bit low to me but everyone has a different light tolerance...

Re: Whats the deal over at Welding Web?

This forum will grow as it fills a void. It is a great group poised for greater content. Here, I've always wished more experts would contribute. For his own reasons, Jody is not an active participant here. Nobody will ever accuse this site of being top heavy. I wonder if some people at Heavy Equipm...

Re: Best metal cutting and prep tools? Newb

Hey guys, I am just getting into welding and was wondering what tools you guys recommend for cutting and prep work. All I have right now is a angle grinder and Sawzall. I bought a pack of wire brushes 4 the angle grinder at Harbor Freight but they don't work very well. Thanks for any help I would r...
