Re: Everlast PowerPro 256s/si

I reposted this here, seems there is more traffic than the general discussion section. Well, I tried to do some research before purchasing this unit. I thought it seemed like it was going to be fine, but then I see alot of problems with the earlier units. I thought maybe having the plasma would be ...

Hf start and a foot pedal would be ideal. its just about the standard in today's world.

Not sure if this goes here but here we go..

Weld Size Question

Really basic here I think but wouldn't mind this explained. I ran across this in the reference side of a blueprint the other day. ** Weld size to be 1x the minimum material thickness ** So just wondering if that means what i think it means.. If the material is 1/2" that then states that the fil...

Re: TIG Gloves long fingers

I feel your pain. I use steiner tig gloves and found over time they tend to stretch a bit. I also used to trade my new gloves to friend at work for his slightly used gloves.

Sometimes you gotta pick the lesser if two evils i guess.

Re: Hunt for Red Torch-tober

What you need would typically be found as a "WP-18 flex". It is the water cooled version of the WP-26, and uses the same consumables as the very common WP-17 150A air cooled torch found on smaller welders. The WP-18 typically handles up to 350A if I recall. Thanks i will investigate this!

Turn your gas up, 30 cfh is not too much. I use 40 on anodized with no problems. You can stick your tungsten out further. You can also block off the ends to help trap the gas in the corner. I think more gas will fix your problem though. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk Thanks it worked like a c...

Hunt for Red Torch-tober

See what i did there with the title? :)

so i am looking for a torch like the one in the picture. But! It head needs to be able to be adjusted up and down. And water cooled. The only markings i can find on the torch in the picture is "18".

Thanks guys!!

1/8 for the fillets and 3/32 for the covers. These guys im working for dont want to see a bulbous weld. But at my current machine settings. The weld pool seems to bowl inward.
