is there flux core for stainless

Like this stuff? Probably would want to replace the liner if the mig setup was used for something else other than SS. https://bakersgas.com/products/bluedemon-308lfco-035-01?variant=28852603420725&campaign=13081037688&adgroup=127541269092&feeditem=&keyword=&matchtype=&device=...

HTP Max Dry https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1pQ97nK3Ii76-8gbNe0Vqfw-DVwv3Nssu These work great to dry the air. They utilize rechargeable desiccant that can be recharged in your oven. How long a charge last is based upon usage. The desiccant is blue when dry and turns to purple when i...

Re: Thinking of a DRILL DOCTOR

Well, got mine in yesterday, put it in the truck and today give it a work out , sure was nice to have with me ,two miles in a Kentucky hollow, under a dozer, drilling out bolts, and dulling bits wasn't as bad today. i would recommend it, its a nice tool when you dont have anything else but a handgr...

And they’re using a spool gun which is a no brainer for mig welding aluminum.

.095” thickness is also completely adequate for roof racks and it saves ~25% in weight compared to .125”.

Re: What’s best way to cut expanded metal?

My supplier won't shear the raised expanded metal, as someone else had mentioned. I just lay the full sheets on a few 2x4's, mark with a tape measure and sharpie, and then zip through it with an angle grinder and cutoff wheel. It cuts way faster than you may think it would. This...just seconds fast...

Surge or running watts?

I have an eastwood mig250 I am looking into getting a gen for it. To run on 240v at 47 amps I will need a 12,000 watt gen. My question is do I need 12k starting or running watts? Thanks why do you need a 12K gen, my Onan in my motorhome puts out 51.5 amps with 6500 watt output You have 240V in your...

Re: Burnback with stainless wire

If it’s still burning back, then perhaps turn the voltage down a bit or increase the wire feed speed. Maybe I’m missing something.

Re: Machining Some Scope Rings

I've done a similar project modifying some rings in the past. If you didn't use any cold blue, try some Oxpho-Blue from Brownell. Pretty easy to use. I think you meant Aluminum Black, since the part is aluminum and not steel. BW Casey Aluminum Black Touch-Up 3Oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002JCW2CG...

It may prove to be tough to achieve a more uniform tippled without more practice. If you’re going for asthmatics have you considered placing the weld on the inside of the leg?

Re: TIG Straightening?

I don't know if I would say I did fusion welds. I held the torch close to the metal until it started to liquefy, and then I moved on. I didn't try to join anything. There was no filler rod. I was working in an area where there were no welds. This is defined as a "fusion weld". And his poi...

Garage heater

Maybe I missed it, but I have a few questions about your design. 1. Assuming the radiator and copper line is a closed-loop system how do you manage pressure? Or rather over pressure? 2. By what mean is the coolant circulated and will the pump handle the high temperature? Do you have a make/model you...

Re: Industrial (steel) barn door project...

Guys- I stayed “fire protection” not fire proof; there is a difference. Depending on how the weld/ fabrication is executed would determine how much heat is induced, such as short stitch welds across the top rather than a full bead or tabs across the top portion. As stated riveting is an option, not...
