Re: Spray/pulse

I've searched and searched but can't find his review of this machine. In fact, I could only find a couple specific reviews; both pretty positive, but we know how that goes. Could you point it out? Or was his view/review just for Yes welders in general? I did see similarities between this and another...

Spray/pulse

Does "pulse" automatically mean "spray" when speaking of MIG welders??? Reason I ask is I just purchased an inexpensive mig welder that has P/DP. It's more machine than i need, but I wanted to play. A Yes YWM-211P. I was hoping it would "spray". It does.... and I don't ...

Re: Learning Mig/Mag welding is confusing

For C25 you typically need less volts than straight 100% CO₂. How much less can vary by machine and also inductance settings play a part. Also I will add that my modified chart is very conservative, and plenty of machines have recommended settings that go into the WFS ranges where I outlined in red...

Re: Learning Mig/Mag welding is confusing

Oh and ditch the 15AK and get a 24KD MIG gun . Worlds better, and you can get proper consumables. Contact Tip recess is less than ⅛". I might do that in the future. I've spent a good portion of my play money and I have ground a couple of nozzles down to almost flush. I do like the idea that th...

Re: Learning Mig/Mag welding is confusing

You aren’t getting to “spray mode” with 75/25 gas, pure and simple. At best you’re in globular transfer mode. You’re right about it being tricky to know exactly where to set your machine for material thickness, wire size, etc. Most machine settings are at best a “guide” and you adjust from there ba...

Re: Learning Mig/Mag welding is confusing

I was using .030 wire and regular 75/25 mix and it spray transferred, but I know you need different gases and didn't pursue it any more than satisfying my curiosity. https://www.amazon.com/ARCCAPTAIN-Aluminum-MIG-Gasless-welding-Adjustment/dp/B0B1TGZ8XN/ref=sr_1_3?crid=16AL3O9UYG5EP&keywords=arc...

Learning Mig/Mag welding is confusing

I realize this board is really an advanced board. However, it's the one I signed up for, so I'll ask my questions here and hope I don't expose my ignorance too awful much. Yes, I bought a relatively cheap synergic mig welder. I don't weld professionally and I am not and cannot afford $2000+ for a co...

Re: ? on a prospect

my thoughts also. I asked, via email, if it is still available but no answer as of yet. It said, "Like New" hehehehe. I'm not experienced enough to know. If I figured it wouldn't hurt the pocket book too much, I'd liked to have a look see, but with needing $700+ leads, it's not that time. ...

Re: ? on a prospect

Thanks, appreciate the info.

As much as I hate to pass this up, it's more than I can play with right now. I think it's a heck of a steal at $500. Maybe too good to be true.

? on a prospect

Been lurking for quite a while and reading about Spray mig/mag and it has really piqued my interest. I also saw some suggestions on looking for used equipment instead of new to save some $$$. I ran across a Thermal Arc Powermaster 320SP...no leads. I went and found the Tweeco torch that the repair m...

Lurker in need

Been reading a while after buying a new Tig welder I'm learning on; a Primeweld 225. Have read about some Mig welding also. I have an old Lincoln 125SP that I have used on some square tubing and electrical EMT for projects a long time ago. Did a little Tig, Mig, and Plasma cutting for work...however...
