I guess if you found a procedure that (gets you by) then more power to you. But you NEED AC to do a proper weld because one cycle digs and one CLEANS. If you take the cleaning cycle out the weld will be dirty (to say the least) and won't pass any inspections (if needed). If your just sticking 2 piec...

I just use the North 1/2 mask with the hose attachments to put the filters low on your back. Plus it fits under the helmet better with the filters relocated.

x3 on the thoriated tungsten. Just don't breath the dust when sharpening. I have also been welding for 20 yrs and this just came up a few yrs ago, everybody got all scared that it would cause you to grow a third eye :lol: It won't cause any issue when welding. Besides its the most universal tungsten...

I've been hanging around this forum for a while and thought I would try to give some insight here. I have been a journeyman welder for 20 yrs and when I first learned tig there was no pulse tig. I have an old miller transformer 250 amp tig at the shop but decided to get myself a welder for the house...
