And an Invertec v-350pro, that works.
And an Powermig 350mp.
And a Millermatic 252.
And a Thermal-Arc 181.

I think I'm missing a few, but those are the important ones... 8-) ;)
How do you like the thermal arc 181? I've got the tweco 181i that I got for free and I love it!

Re: Opinion on this welding technique?

I only button pulse on thin stuff or when I know it's getting too hot but not usually on thick stuff. The technique an old timer taught me when I first taught myself to mig weld has been my go to and I use it for thick and thin and it works better for me and comes out looking like tig most of the t...

Re: Opinion on this welding technique?

A guy in our shop has been using a new technique, and I'd like your opinion. Several of us already have an opinion, but we don't know anything... I think he's trying to make a Mig weld look like a Tig weld, but the technique he uses is to weld a series of little circles stopping the arc between eac...

Re: first few beads

Not bad at all! What thickness metal were you welding on? The 95amps looks like it was way to hot but that could just be because your welding on thinner metal and not having to worry about penetrating into both pieces but that's jus my 2cents! Just straight beads on 1/4" plate.. no joining Tha...

Re: Finally getting a little better!

35 years ago I had my first encounter with MIG. It was a revelation! I remember the price of admission at the time as $3500.00 plus all the many added costs to make the machine work. There was no internet, most of you guys weren't born yet. $3500 + meant a few months pay in that era. Once a machine...
