Re: How to polish steel

Re: Steel roses

When i was first starting out in metal working i was making tulips as birthday gifts. Recently, a few years later, used the same pattern i did before and realized that that was a whole lotta work for what they looked like. Especially made out of 1/8" Bilco doors.

Re: Throatless Metal Shear ?

Harbor Freight!! Had the same dilemma as you but closer to Christmas... didnt want to shell out the dough/ couldnt wait for shipping for a real one. They worked okay after a solid degreasing and some blade tightening/adjustment. One of the bolts is clear too short or one of the arms is bent out but ...

Are you using An AD hood? You may have to mess with the settings a bit because the delay might be too short after you stop.

When i need to deflect the shower of sparks, i will use anything from scrap angle iron to large sheets of plywood or cement board when cutting vertically. I rarely need to catch the sp...

Hi from CT

I started welding when my father needed one for his business. I got really used to it, tearing up rusty scrap metal (with my recently acquired plasma cutter) and then making stuff with it for my dad, and even doing structural welds on his Bobcat skidsteer and excavator. Of course I started with linc...
