inductance doesn't do anything in spray.
I believe the OP was asking about doing short circuit MIG with 90/10 not spray.

Re: Help with Oxy acetylene welding

+1 to what Daniel said. A wire brush will not remove mill scale in most cases. It just polishes it. Oxy-acetylene welding does not require the kind of cleaning TIG welding requires. I would ditch the acetone, and I would remove the mill scale with a grinder or a sanding disk. Did you ever try the la...

You got ripped off. Should be at least 2000psi, give or take +/- 100 psi for temperature changes

FWIW, there are no pre-qualified welding procedures for short circuit, hard wire MIG. There are pre-qualified procedures for stick, flux core, TIG, etc., but not short circuit, hard wire MIG. That ought to tell you a bit about what you are asking Jody tells it better than I do. https://www.weldingti...

Hey, I'll retire soon but need advice on a cheap TIG welder for small home projects. Maybe some of you have some similar needs. Quick search came up with 200A stick/TIG for under $200 (ug can you say China?). I can get away with 100A, dont need no pedal, but HF start is really desirable (I'm a mach...

Normal? Abby-normal?
Its normal for an air cooled torch to get to hot to comfortably handle.

Anything powered is a mistake, it just pushes contaminants deeper into the metal. Use a dedicated stainless steel wire brush followed by a wipe with acetone and you should be good to go.

Check your work clamp and all lead connections. Corrosion, loose connections, or anything that causes high resistance in the welding circuit will do exactly what you are experiencing, especially as they heat up.

I wouldn't buy a bottle if I was in your situation. I would call my local welding supply company and lease a tank, the largest they have. It will save you time chasing refills. and the cost to lease a tank is usually less than $100/year. Plus when you pass, your family can just return the tank. My w...

Re: Do I absolutely need 240v for my Millermatic 211 to get good penetration on 3/16” carbon steel?

To get the rated output of 115 amps @20% duty cycle out of that welder on 120V input, requires 24 amps from a 120V outlet (per the owners manual). Standard household 120V outlets are wired for either 15 or 20 amps. First, even though it is rated for 3/16ths on 120V input power, that assumes no limit...

Re: MIG with Voltage and Current adjustment but no wire speed?

On any MIG welder, the wire feed speed IS the current adjustment. What scares me more on this welder is the ability to set the voltage above 30 volts. I have never seen that before. I wonder if this unit is really not a MIG welder and rather is a submerged arc welder (sub arc). Subarc voltages get t...

They were model numbers originally, from Weldcraft I believe. The numbers are not a measurement per se. smaller number torches are "generally" smaller in size and handle lower amps. But there are lots of differences in amp ratings/duty cycles between manufacturers. The air cooled torches a...

I tell ya what, this 6010 stuff is stroppy. Yep. Outside of pipe, I am not sure why anyone uses it. Yes, it can burn through lots of crap, bu...
