Thinking about a new welder

I currently have a Hobart Handler 150, original 220v transformer based MIG, a Dynasty 200DX/coolmate 400 and a MM350P with a 25' XR-Aluma Pro and a Bernard Q300 gun and a Hypertherm Powermax 45. Getting older, not doing anywhere as much as planned. Haven't powered up the welders for 4 years after mo...

The space problem is an illusion... A correllary to Murphys law states, "The same crap that completely fills a one-car garage will equally fill a two-car garage." Steve S True, even eons ago as an accountant and auditor, we could easily fill every square inch of horizontal surfaces with w...

Re: WANTED: Older miller thunderbolt missing AC taps

I'm really glad i found that manual. I thought this machine was too ancient to even have an online manual. I thought wrong. The other issue i'm having that the heat wont decrease. The mounting stud/swivel that holds the threaded rod that adjusts the shunt is busted. The heat increases but to decrea...

My understanding was the LASIK does a good job of correcting the distance vision, however, reading glasses are generally needed... I have issues with astigmatism and with custom contact lenses, correction was great, however, as I have gotten older the need for reading lenses has increased... I can s...

Re: Spiral staircase help

Formula:
Circumference = 2πr
h = (height of helix x 360) / angle
Length = √(h^2 + circumference^2)
Unit Rise = h / circumference
Handrail Radius = (4π^2r^2 + h^2) / 4π^2r
where:

π = 3.1415926
r = Radius
h = Height required for Helix to complete one revolution

For a work/production environment, I'm not sure going with a Chinese unit is the best way. BTW, as long as we don't know who you are and what company, there is little risk of leaking trade secrets ... depending on your site and power, you can consider a used Sincrowave Sent from my SM-G900V using Ta...

See if you can come up with the overhead crane design and show the Dr. how beneficial it will be to take a load off your spine, with the proper harness. Then, have him write a prescription for it as durable medical goods!

Hope you recover soon and get back into the shop.

I have decided to go water cooled! Just too many times the air cooled gets too hot to hold! I'm old, I don't like it so change is coming... Bought a Coolmate 4 and now trying to decide on which torch. The current torch of interest is the CK 200 series CK225SF-FX The Flex-Loc seems to be too radical ...
