I have pressure-matched flowmeters on each bottle (meaning each have the same downstream set pressure, 60 PSI for example, and simply meet them with a tee before the machine. The regulators assure no back-mixing between ...

Argon plus Helium mixer

I have 2 regulators and a bottle of argon and helium, I saw a few videos on mixing gases and the benefits and I want - need to do it. My problem is finding the correct back pressure ball valve with the correct right hand threads. my local welding supply had the valves for acetylene but wrong threads...

Re: The what I welded today (/whenever) thread (pics please)

482.jpg This is a project that I spent all last winter and spring on. If I only had the boat in the back yard. This was my first go at 316 stainless. That stuff is alive when you heat it up. I'm just a backyard hack and every louse thing I touch is a learning experience. I think I got it and the ne...

Re: Pistol Amp Control

I tried the rotary and the slider they both feel awkward. I got an on off button easier to use I just set the slope up and down and manually pulse. better than a sharp stick in the eye. I think the pistol is going to be the hot ticket.

It would be great to hear how you like it, I think it would be really nice on tight tubing areas in crappy positions.

Re: polishing tools

@ Dave. I've never seen a copy of the Metabo tool - perhaps you could share some info on it ? make / model / source ? or even a short review as I'm sure many members would have use for an affordable pipe polisher. Cheers. OK Brian, I haven't had this tool long and haven't used it but just to test i...

Re: polishing tools

I have a generic air belt sander similar to the " Dynabrade " type & have found " Scotchbrite " type belts for it which help with blending especially on brush finish - I don't own any Metabo gear but it looks good if expensive - below is a You Tube link of some of the tools ...

Re: Can t see

Hi Ed, I've been in the printing field all my life and my eyes are shot. I use 175 to 225 cheaters for close up work 250's if I'm right on top of it. In my helmet I use 225 cheaters with I think 200 lens in the helmet I'm tig welding and my depth of field is shit but I can see the puddle. I set my h...
