If you buy 7018 make sure its for an AC machine, regular 7018 will not work. 7014 will also run alot like 7018. I have the same machine and generaly run 6011, but it does penetrate deep. anyone on here from alaska? I know what fcw3269 is talkin about as far as the heat settings. Every machine will perform differently, and the way i look at it, and this is all in my humble opinion, welding is more feel than science. If your using 7018 you really dont have to worry much about slag, as long as you have your heat...

Just stumbled across this site/forum and its amazing. Thought i'd share another site, hopefully im not repeating anyone or steppin on toes, but its got alot of great info on it too.
