Re: Pump option - too good to be true?

I'm going to go with this pump next, since I don't like the high load of my shurflo (however it still works fine):

Made me a little "handrest" a few weeks ago for welding up an aluminum box which I`m gonna use for transporting my race track stuff... two smaller boxes will follow for tools: 20150916_112027.jpg 20150916_112042.jpg 20150916_112054.jpg 20150918_145832.jpg 20150918_145838.jpg 20151013_11494...

Re: Water pump for TIG water cooler?

Thanks to all for the great response! Any concerns running an aluminum tank? I'm actually running a coolant which is especially designed for the use with aluminum. I had bad experience in the past with the wrong coolant! Thanks again to all! I'll post some pics when the cooler is finally finished. A...

Re: Water pump for TIG water cooler?

Finally I had time to continue building the "reservoir tank" for my Tig-cooler which will also work as a heat sink: Unbenannt.jpg Milling the cooling fins: 20151110_082536.jpg tacking it up and welding: 20151130_173046.jpg finished tank: 20151130_181331.jpg 20151130_181942.jpg Alexis

Re: Water pump for TIG water cooler?

The radiator of my prototype (second image) is one used for PC-watercooling. It's the model MO-RA3 http://watercool.de/en/mo-ra3-0 22015.jpg The problem with this radiator is, that at a certain flowrate the flow resistance becomes very large and therfore a lot of pumps tend to be at their limit. I u...

Re: Water pump for TIG water cooler?

I'm in the process of building my own TIG cooler right now. It will probably look like this: Unbenannt.jpg I am using 12V shurflo membrane pumps, which are designed for continous operation. To be honest, this will be the second version of my cooler. The fist one runs okay, but my pump is at its abso...
