Re: the best gloves?

I have had good luck with BSX BM88 gloves, they are marketed as a mig glove but as I have found they work great for stick welding. They are heavy duty, kevlar stitched, and most important very comfortable. A new pair from my local LWS is $15.00 even. Honestly though whatever you like the best is the ...

Re: In-weld electrodes

Josh, I bought a 5lb box for 14.95 sales tax included to do some trailer repair . Yes they are very common out here in the sticks ,my local supply store carries Lincoln and Hobart electrodes but most of the local welders use Inweld ,they are a great rod and are a lot cheaper than the well known bran...

Inweld electrodes

I purchased some Inweld brand 1/8 inch 7018 AC electrodes from my local welding supply store and was very impressed with them in my opinion they are better than Hobart and Lincoln rods ,has anyone else ran these rods if so what do you think about them?

Vertical 7018

Haven't had to weld in the vertical position for about 2 years now. I did not have a wire wheel handy so I had to use a regular claw hammer and wire brush.

Scratch start Tig

Would it even be worth running a scratch start tig rig on a fixed amperage Lincoln AC/DC machine or would I be better off buying an Everlast ,or other quality unit with all the bells and whistles that the ole Lincoln just don't have.If its worth it does anyone sell a scratch start tig kit for a reas...

DeepSouthWelder, I appreciate the fails you've shown. I should have emphasized, the weld I commented on was in liquid hydrogen service... Admittedly, it was on the vent side, but this is NOT a service you put rookie welders on. Steve S Your very welcome Steve and liquid hydrogen is very dan...
