Re: Help with helmets plz

I have a speedglass 9000 and the miller infinity. I bought the miller because the speedglass was flashing me with tig. I'm sure the 9100 doesn't have that problem.

I love the miller, but it's a lot heavier than the speedglass. I wish it had the new lens.

Re: Miller Elite Lens Specification Question

Don't by the batteries at the LWS. They're under $3 at Walmart.

Re: Harbor Freight Vulcan.

I bumped into the local welder repair guy at the local welding shop the other day and we got to talking about welders. Basically what I was told was that if you own one of the newer machines, when one of the boards needs replcement it's going to be at least $800 plus labor. His advise was to sell mi...

Are you having trouble too?

I'm not sure if this is where to ask, so if it's inappropriate I won't be offended if this gets deleted. I bounce back and forth between this site and weldingweb. This past week the weldingweb site has been coming up "Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server.". Are yo...

Optrel Helmets?

My Speedglas 9000x isn't working out forTig, so I'm researching helmets for a replacement. I've been considering the Miller Digital Infinity. I came across the Optrel helmets and I'm intrigued. Who has experience with them and would you buy it again and why?

Re: Pure Argon vs C25

I wasn't really worried about saving money on the gas as much as verifying that he didn't know what he was doing. I'm new to welding and I was sure there was a good reason for using the mixed gas just didn't remember why. I found the video while I was killing time, I think I was using my ipad at the...

Pure Argon vs C25

I saw a guy on YouTube who advocated using pure argon for mild steel welds instead of C25. He made welds side by side with the two gases and said he couldn't tell the difference. His rationale is that since C25 is more expensive you could save money by just using argon. So what are the pitfalls of t...

Re: Everlast tig 250ex?

I purchased a 250EX last week. Their customer service is awesome. If you decide to buy one contact "lugweld" over on welding web. He got me the latest 250Ex, Water Cooler, CK Flexloc 230 torch with adapters shipped to my door for $2400. I had everything but the CK torch 2 days latter. It c...

New to the forum

Hello Everybody So a few weeks ago I walk into the local welding supply and there's the local ESAB rep standing there talking with the manager of the shop. They tell me about a really neat new MIG machine (The Rebel) that would help someone like me who doesen't weld very well, weld like a pro. I'm s...
