It's good that they took care of that so quick, so besides that what is your opinion of their 4th gen 3350? What other auto darkening hoods do/have you used?

Re: Annealing and then hardening of 5052 or similar
From this site "Aluminum 5052 also happens to be the strongest non-heat-treatable sheet and plate in common use. 5052 isn’t just easily welded and highly corrosion-resistant, it is also tough and strong. It has good drawing properties and a high rate of work hardening. Its overall versatility, ...

Use a heatsink if possible, also make a short weld, stop and let it cool then repeat

Re: Aluminium oxidation layer
The OP's last visit to the forum was in 2016 Concerning your blowout, this is normal and a purge would do the same. Best to stop the weld just before closing it off, let the joint cool then go back and seal it. The smaller the internal volume the harder this would be, a large enough internal volume ...

So you have 2 pressure gages, one to show the pressure in the tank, the other to show the pressure out to the torch, you're saying the torch side returns to 0 after the post flow times out?

I've used one of these as well, run the line to your bench and have this so you can stop the flow between parts or as needed without getting up

Re: TIG - Backpurge from torch gas line?
Still seemed odd to me that I could find NO ONE that used the 'output' option or even spoke of it. Steve if you're trying to purge exhaust tube (or any volume) then you'll need flow before you start to weld, you have to flush out the air and that won't happen just when gas is flowing while welding....

Re: TIG - Backpurge from torch gas line?
Welcome to the forum You don't say what it is that you're welding, although for your question it may not be important, still I'm curious to know. If what you're doing works with your setup then all is good, if I'm welding a part with a back purge then it's typically finished in short order, it could...
