Re: Hook in end of filler rod

I thought l invented the hooked filler rod. I did this when l needed my wife's help (needed a third hand with a brain) and couldn't stand the thought of hurting her in the process.

Re: How it all got started

I started in general because I was poor and could not pay anyone to do anything for me. I started tig because l needed to modify my own motorcycle fuel tank and didn't trust anyone who work for a price l could afford. Basically, l weld because I'm poor.

Re: How to Check Out Used TIG?

The square wave is a transformer and the AHP is an inverter. Inverters tend to be more efficient on power.

Need to pass AWS test.

ANY AWS test. I work for a large municipal transit athourity. They are opening fab shop and the requirements for appointment are to be AWS certified. They don't care which cert as long as you have one at the time of appointment. I'm figuring a horizontal plate test. Any suggestions?

Re: Magnets used for holding

A product called fun-tack is an adhesive clay. It will pull metal particles off the magnets. Knead it and it pull more until it becomes saturated, it will clean many magnets before this happens.

Just undertook this endeavor today. Quite fun and frustrating at the same time. I am out of coupons but l am certain my neighbors will be able to supply all l could need. This looks better in person than it does on camera. This is one of the better results. Warts and all, right?

Don't use a stone. Use a carbide burr and Pam cooking spray on the burr. Reapply often.

Yes. The part that is scorched is already buggered. As long as you can change the contact tip when you need to, there is no reason to stop using this.
