Re: MillerBobcat 225 cart.

Makes perfect sense. So, the only thing I have to remember, is that the holes for the bolting, are 22.312 inches away from the other, as far as length goes. Also, if I am to make the thing the same way as Millers version, I would make the gap on the one side 6 inches from the crossbeam and on the ot...

Re: MillerBobcat 225 cart.

I find it very interesting, that Miller has that design. They and you know more than me about that. haha But, it seems to me, with 5 inch wide tubing, my idea would be better. I just thing it interesting, that they have nothing in the middle. BUT, it is for the location of the bars in the middle. I ...

Re: MillerBobcat 225 cart.

So, thinking, and I may have written this. haha I have something to do, so, I am moving fast paced. Maybe, I will make a cart, that will have a piece of each side, coming, two or three inches up. But, have hinges on the top, that has a part that goes over, say half the welder on the other side. I co...

Re: MillerBobcat 225 cart.

Yes, I had looked at that, but, as with most things, after you said something, I actually saw it. haha Seems that at most, they have a bar on the very top. It also seems like there are things all over the side, that you need to either use or open when it is required. That gives me another idea. I me...

MillerBobcat 225 cart.

Ok, I got a cheap welder in June. I really liked it. I taught myself how to weld so fast. So, in June, I am getting a Miller Bobcat 225 EFI. Now, I want to make a cart for it. I know the welder is 40 inches long, by 20 wide. I got 12 feet of, 12 foot long, 5 inch wide, 2 inch inside, rectangle tubin...

Re: Miller Bobcat 225 or 250

As much as I could. Steel, stainless steel, aluminum and whatever else. Seems though that getting another welder would be smart. Someone on here suggested I not get a Bobcat as my first welder. I liked it because it has a great duty cycle and for the fact that it seems to be everything in one item.

Miller Bobcat 225 or 250

I was thinking of getting one of these. If not, I would have to use a generator to power any other welder I would get. I am just starting the welding thing. Can either of these weld aluminum? Do they come with a foot pedal? Also, besides the gas stuff, wife, rods, gas and oil, what would I need to w...

Re: Looking for welder

Cool. Any ideas on a good place to get a used one? I live in Maryland. Right around a Roberts Oxygen. Not sure if they have them there or not. Also, thank you for the price tip. Very helpful stuff.

Re: Looking for welder

Alright, you guys are super helpful. I am going to take the ones guys advice and not get the engine drive thing yet. He said the syncrowave is good. Ok, so, I see I can get a Tig one for $2,759. He said then get a Mig machine. Now, I see that I can add Mig to this machine. For like $406 more, I can ...

Re: Looking for welder

Well, my mom and step dad really don't want me to run the thing using our power. Maybe I should just see how it would work. Ask someone who knows about that kind of thing. I bet our neighbor would know.

Re: Looking for welder

I would use it for everything I could. I like the art thing. You know, designing something, then making it. Also, if ever anyone needed something fixed, I could bust out ye ol welder and fix it up.

Re: Looking for welder

3 phase power huh. Well, if I knew what that was, I would be happy to let you know. haha The only way I will be able to use a welder here, is with a generator. Some told me not to use one. But, I have no other choice. So, if there is one that would allow me to do what you are asking, I would be happ...

Looking for welder

Alright, I am new to welding. I am thinking of taking a class on it, sometime this year. I have a cheap stick welder. I want a good one. I want a stick, mig and tig welder. My dad used to have a Miller. He died in 03 and I have no clue what happened to the thing. I saw these Bobcat 250 (Kohler), GFC...

Re: Generator

While I am at it, if I am going to spend thousands of dollars on a welder, I really want one with a good duty cycle. Any thoughts? I was looking at the engine driven ones. Then I saw a 20% duty cycle.

Generator

Ok, I am new to welding. I have a cheap ($75 maybe) stick welder. I want to get a mig and a tig. Tig will be first. Miller recommended one to me. My mom and step father are letting me make my own shed thing out back of our house. haha So, what is a good generator to get? I also want to get the begin...
