Hypertherm is the only way to fly, IMHO. Buy once, cry once.

ABS is a plastic that originates from natural stuff. PVC is more chemically originated and is cholorinated. ABS is generally safer for you and the materials it comes in with contact with since it is not made with oxidizers. PVC is made with cholorinated and and oxidized agents and is generally unsa...

Thanks again, NoddyBrian. That all makes sense. Machine is a Big Blue 251-D. (Not using it for pipe, just structural.)

Re: Engine Welders and Coarse/Fine Heat Adjustments?
Thanks, NoddyBrian. I looked and found what I suspect is the video you're talking about here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvZGxFs0bJQ Only watched about a quarter of it so far, but it sounds like he's saying to do the opposite of what I'm saying. Engine Welders and Coarse/Fine Heat Adjustments?
Question for you pipe welders and users of engine-drive welders - Just got a Miller engine drive with the coarse and fine controls (like an SA-200), and I'm trying to get it dialed in for 1/8" 6010 and 7018. If you're using 6010 and you want a lot of dig (like for a deep root), is it correct th...

Good videos, thanks for posting. I also had a grinder with a wire wheel eat my tee shirt...it stopped just below my chin.

Re: Welding Rod Of Choice!!!
I like 1/8" 6010 and 7018 but I don't use any inverter machines, just transformers and an engine drive. YMMV.
