Re: Shop job
No only the two branch holes. My plasma is a cheap Chinese job and mostly the results are not pleasing. All other cuts were pipe wrap marked and 1mm x 125mm wafer disc cut. I find it fast and accurate for bevel prep. The end caps were done with mag base.

Shop job
I don't often get to do much pipe welding in the shop, it's almost always on site and usually no cameras allowed. I just got the chance to spool up a control column for a pressure vessel level sensor (80"). Nothing bionic but its an opportunity to post up a job at least. The column is a 3"...

Hey sampeeter.
Thanks for the info. What model plasma cutter do you use?
Any pics for us?

Re: Copper Air Lines
Oh der. I must have had a big bowl of stoopid not to think of that. I guess each leg could be trapped but on savings in the end. Sorry Jonathan.

Re: Copper Air Lines
Also you can joint the drain legs together and have one drain valve instead of 4.

Re: Copper Air Lines
I would shorten the spacer pipes between the elbows as much as possible to reduce the overall size. Airflow over this condenser will increase condensation significantly. If you don't want an electric fan, try mounting one to your compressor pulley and mount to condenser in the air flow path. Cheers,...

Re: Cross over fittings
The two big problem contributors are firstly the small size. Anything under 1/2" is not normally stocked. I also needed bspp (parallel thread) which makes it impossible. My local machine shop wanted $65 to turn them up and he is slammed as well. That left me with the hot tap at short notice. Gi...

Cross over fittings
This is the most thankless job I've had to do in a while. We can't get NPT to BSPP cross over fittings here in Oz it seems, I tried everywhere - engineers supplies, hydraulics, A105 3000# manufacturers all manner of cattledogs (catalogues haha). I shouldn't even have had to do it. But you know if I ...

Re: I'm back.
If you saw some of the welds I'm doing right now you probably would agree.
I'm welding 1/8"npt nipples to 1/4"bspp sockets because apparently that's the only way we can get yanks and poms together round here.

Re: I'm back.
Some very bad things going on in my life, not many left in my family now. I'm one who is in a dangerous occupation exposed to deadly chemicals, fumes and other risks on the job, yet I'm the one coming home to an empty house. My head was in a bad place for a long time because it doesn't make sense, I...
