Years ago in NZ, there was a flux that was used to tin the edges of cast iron before using the standard CI bronze flux. It was labeled as " Unity Flux ". I wonder if such a product is still available from specialty O/A rod and flux suppliers. i think here its called Oxweld or something lik...

try grinding a nice clean V, heat the weld area cherry red to clean out the oil.
set the torch slightly carbonizing before you braze.

just seems strange they make the holder so large and cheater hold the size?
why have to adjust it up or down when the right size would be perfect

yes that holder came with the hood but the holder is twice
as large as the miller cheater. i was hoping to find a
cheater that fills the holder.

large cheater lens

just bought a new infinity miller hood.
it comes with a nice size cheater lens holder.
bought millers cheater and its about half the
size of the holder.
does anyone know where to find a cheater that fills the holder?

i agree with cj, i have used riv-nuts on my motorcycle fenders
and sub frames for years. they keep the base metal hole stable.

i save large cardboard and use it on my welding table for layout
and even weld over it if what I'm welding in not in contract.
for larger projects i tape the cardboard together.
i can thank you wife for all the available cardboard (Amazon shopper)

The breadboard ends are drawboard mortis a tenon joints.

very very nice way to finish an end without glue!!

how did you fasten those breadboard ends?
hope they are not glued end to end or it will cause
cross grain issues.
