Re: rookie layout question

Look up "speed square" and you'll find what you want. The back on the square will span the corner radius and allow you to lay out the miter accurately. They come in different sizes and in plastic and aluminum.

Re: Genorator Power question

Looking at the specs of both machines you generator makes a steady 29 Amps at 240 volts while you welder is looking for 54 amps at max rated output. As long as you stay at or below 100 amps welding output you should be fine on power. And no, initial power surge isn't an issue although I couldn't beg...

Re: Proto Bad Customer Service

The OP sates there is a lifetime guarantee, so that should cover a worn tool? I believe Craftsman use to be like that, any reason and it would be replaced. Copied directly from Proto's warranty. "Does not cover damage due to ordinary wear and tear." Craftsman's warranty has read that way ...

Re: Proto Bad Customer Service

I may be confused here and if I am I'll apologize in advance. You state that the socket is worn out. Proto's warranty, like pretty much everyone else on the planet, clearly states that normal wear is not a defect. So if it is simply worn and not a manufacturing defect you don't have a warranty claim...
