Yes indeedy.

Love the pics. That shed is just about spot-on for the size I'd like. As I always say, "big enough for the bikes, the tools to build them, and a test ride when I'm finished!"

Re: Aussie Mig advice, please!

Kym, Ask yourself the question "Can I live without a mig machine right now?" If the answer is "yes" then ask yourself another question "can I live without a mig for the foreseeable future?" If the answer is still yes make a plan to start saving for a decent unit and wo...

Love watching stuff like this come together and LOVE big sheds. I built my own shed, too, but I've outgrown it. Re: Aussie Mig advice, please!

The token tools mig doesn't excite you? I plan on buying one day, a 250 amp mig, I keep an eye on ebay and facebook, but I just don't have the funds. I hear the 175i cigweld is a mint machine. Unimig razor, wia, lincoln powercraft are all good units. I would trust Tokentools machines all day long. ...

And yes, I can highly recommend the Furick cups, they are awesome and worth the dollars. Happy practising!

Re: grinders

Mmm....grinders. My 2 cents: 1) Own several, one for cup brush, one for slice wheel, one flap disc, one grind wheel, etc. So much faster to just pick up another grinder than to always be changing wheels. 2) When you buy it, tear it apart and grease it. You'd be surprised how many have either very li...

Aussie Mig advice, please!

Hey all. I have an ACDC Tig welder and I'm very happy with it. However...(long story...) the Tig lives in the garage and most of my fabrication work on motorcycles happens in my shed. It would be super handy to have a relatively cheap DC Mig in the shed so that I could tack on the fly and then head ...

I've been slack and haven't posted much lately. Getting lots of little jobs now for my motorcycle racing mates. Below is a battery/electrics box for a race bike. I assume you are using 4043 filler? Has that typical 'sandy' finish.

Re: Thin aluminum

I do moto work as well. As others have said, add tacks quite closely together. When I use 'chill blocks' (clamping the thin sheet to thick blocks of aluminium) it helps control the heat. If you use AC frequency of, say, 100 - 120hz and a sharply pointed electrode I find it focuses the bead on the ed...

Even just from a 'busy hobbyist's' point of view I have to agree with Pete. I work on jobs for mates often. And it's almost never just welding.
