Re: New Member

Hey guys New to the forums, not so good at intro's. I've been welding for many years, working in the aerospace sector for awhile and now at a shop doing some stainless (round) tube work for the semi conductor industry, along with stainless and duplex pipe for the water RO industry. 99.5% of our wor...

Re: "Precision" Gunsmith Welding

Thank you all so much! I'm heading out to the shop now to get some practice in! Thank you all again! I'll post pics soon! Let's see some updated pics, as Steve said a 1/16" 2% thoriated tungsten will handle up to 150 amps, if you're welding a lot near the upper limit (of a 1/16" tung) the...

Re: Stainless Duct Nooby

Anyone on here got some good resources or information regarding Sheet Metal welding? Specifically 18 guage stainless MIG or TIG for industrial ductwork. Perhaps if you could be more specific about the info you're looking for...sounds like maybe you want to know the settings for 18 ga stainless with...

The ideal way would be to purge if you can, make sure the joint is free of all contaminates (ID and OD), clean back a good 3/8" from the joint.
