Throatless Metal Shear ?

Good Morning Forum Members, Am looking to buy a bench mount throatless metal shear soon and I am looking for some input by folks that might own or use them. I will be using it moderately in my garage so I don't want to buy a Shirley (Cadillac of shears) as they are pretty pricey. I am looking for so...

Re: best budget AC/DC tig machine

Sedanman,
I guess you pay an extra $400 for the CK wrapping? Good to know!
Brad
I guess you could always buy an Everlast, I saw the 250 EX recently on the market for around $1395. Weld 1/4 inch no issues.

Re: best budget AC/DC tig machine

typ 122, Don't forget the CK Worldwide MT-200 ac/dc Tig, it is pricier at $2155 but is supposed to be an excellent machine. Check out reviews and videos on the unit. Price given is at Arczone where I buy a lot of stuff online. I have a Lincoln SquareWave Tig 200 and really enjoy the machine but chan...

Re: Plasma Cutting Torch Upgrade.

Scotty, Why don't you try reaching out to George at www.georgesplasmacuttershop.com he might have some suggestions for you? He sells and services these items specifically. Don't know if he will have an upgrade gun to match the Everlast but probably a good place to start. I have an Everlast PowerTig ...

Re: A Jody 3 legged shop stool!!

gwbruce, Yes it was a great little project which Jody has under his "projects" video section on his site. What I like about the stool is that it has a real good range of height adjustment. I have a Tab and Slot "Fab Block" that I weld at quite a bit and it works very well for tha...

Re: Just got back from Fabtech 2017

Richard, Thanks for the location of Fabtech 2018 in Atlanta "Jody's backyard" ! Trying to talk the girlfriend into getting on a plane from California and shooting out to Georgia next year for the event? Don't know if she will go? She is not into welding and only sees me walk in the house w...

A Jody 3 legged shop stool!!

image.jpeg A project completed from a Welding Tips and Tricks video (3 leg shop stool). I of course spent too much to build my version but that is because I had it powder coated and I had an upholstery pad and add a leather seat. Jody of course uses a bottle of stool softener as a spoof. Here is my...

Re: Just got back from Fabtech 2017

Jody, I enjoyed your Fabtech video, very well done with a lot of info in it. Where is Fabtech next year? Keep up the great work, your time and effort by yourself and group of great Welders is very inspirational to a newby welder like myself. Built the shop stool project, turned out beautiful. As per...

Re: Protecting outdoor metal work table?

I want to thank all for their inputs on protecting my outdoor welding/work table, much appreciated. I never heard back from Sculpt Nouveau as to my question as to using "Clear Coat" on my table but as one forum member pointed out, the product is designed to protect static metal objects fro...

Re: Protecting outdoor metal work table?

Hi Richard, Thanks for the reply to my post, have table off legs right now doing some modifications otherwise I would attach picture. Yes, there is a clear coat produced by Sculpt Nouveau called "Clear Guard" which is a protective lacquer for metal. I have an email into them to see if this...

Re: Protecting outdoor metal work table?

homeboy, I have been using CorrosionX Aviation for years and really like their products. I thought of that as well! I want to see if this Sculpt Nouveau "Clear Guard" might fit the bill as I would prefer to have a surface with no active lubricant film if I can possibly avoid it? Might have...

Protecting outdoor metal work table?

Good Morning, I recently fabricated a roll around outdoor work table using a Tab and Slot brand leg and caster kit and buying a 4 X 5 foot sheet of 1/4" steel as a top. I welded 4 pieces of all thread onto the underside of the table so as to be able to bolt the top to the Tab and Slot leg kit. ...

TEC Torch Products

Good Morning, Was curious if any forum members might know where I could get TEC Torch Products? I was specifically looking at the WTS-17 which is a stubby air cooled size 17 torch. I noticed in one of Jody's videos from Fabtech he stopped by their booth and had talked about their variety of torches....

Re: Everlast Power tig 250EX

Hi Joe, I bought one of these units several years back but have not fired it up yet as I had a few life things get in the way (taking care of elderly parents, etc). I am fairly new to welding and decided to buy a couple more welders, crazy right? I purchased a Lincoln SqureWave Tig 200 and a Millerm...

Re: Intro

Wow that is going to be a good combo (Dentistry and welding). My suspicions are that you will do very well at it as you can already work on things backwards and also you work in close proximity to other things that get in the way.
Best Wishes to you!

Re: Everlast Power tig 250EX

Hi Joe, I bought a PowerTig 250 EX several years ago and have not fired it up yet as I just have not gotten around to doing so. I bought the chiller with mine and I also am changing the torch to a size 20 Weldcraft and also bought an SSC foot pedal through Arc Zone .com online. SSC pedals are suppos...
