how to selecting the right welding rod TIG

Hy guys, iam Achmad Arifudin H. From indonesia
I have a business on industrial gas turbine.

Could you help me, how to selecting the right welding rod of TIG.
I ever welding the base material Nimonic C-263 with Inconel 625 wire rod. It cause the project is urgent and need to fast repair, and our workshop didn't have Nimonic C-263 wire rod.

What the effect if wire rod isn't match with the base metal ??

Please suggest,

Hard to be exact what the effect will be, but the biggest difference between C-263 and Inconel 625 seems to be that the Inconel 625 is much lower in cobalt content (only around 1% in inconel, but around 20% in C-263)

So any weld and surrounding area will likely have a reduced cobalt percentage compared to the base material. Other alloys in the metal like molybdenum seem to be in a similar ballpark although the inconel adds a few more different ones compared to the C-263.

Still.. Will highly advanced alloys like these it probably needs a real metallurgist and some research to know exactly what effect adding a different composition filler will do as far as grain sizes, crack development and corrosion properties. The weld may work initially but how it will last in use is a more difficult question.

As the correct filler for C-263 seems to be C-263 itself, so if you have any pieces left from other jobs or damaged parts then perhaps you could use those as the filler?

But the Inconel 625 and C-263 is still in nickel based alloy. Its the effect of the crack development and corrosion properties still occur after we do precipitation heat treatment ??

And please advice how to selecting the right filler wire rod for superalloys.
im very happy if we get the refference in international standard

Metal manufacturers will gladly tell you what fillers are acceptable and they can usually tell you what the down sides are of using one filler over another. If it’s a part your buying already made then even the supplier should have the info or know where to get it.
