General welding questions that dont fit in TIG, MIG, Stick, or Certification etc.

We are welding pickeld steel pipe root and hot pass are tig er70s with argon purge and cap7018 uphill.Any way to eleminate the mill scale caused by welding.Or tips on flushing pipe out its for hyd.fluid 2"sch 40

mineral spirit flush ....a parts wash pump and an extra barrell.

If you are purging the tig weld just continue the purge for the 7018 pass/passes.
Once the pipe is completely purged and the root pass is in you can reduce the argon flow rate to almost nothing. Welding doesn't create oxygen inside the pipe and the 'mill scale' is iron oxide.
No oxygen... no scale.
