Here are some shots of what I got done before thanksgiving took priority

I've been mocked in many places, but I doubt anyone will be mocking you... 8-)

Nice work, and as Jody has said, "There's no kill like overkill!"

Neat. There's an old hot-rodding axiom which states, "If some is good, then more is better and too much is just right!"
We are not lawyers nor physicians, but welders do it in all positions!

How 'bout an actuator from an old "C" band satellite dish, preferably from a 14' or larger? 12VDC and adjustable limit switches and available at the junkyard for cheap? New linear actuators in that power range may cost a buck or three...

Nice and compact, and a careful design will give you a full 90* without much load since that caster will roll easy and keep the drag off the hinges.

What is your opinion of the Smithy Lathes, thinking about getting one off their small 3 in one units. Currently free shipping and almost $1k in free accessories. I don't have any formal machining experience.
