As far as I know Fabtech is the only show of it's kind, any other "show" is typically theme oriented, like you'd find advertised in the Welding Journal

that's what I figured after a web search prior to the post, you would think the Atlanta area or east Tx there would be a mini FabTech. I have asked the sale guy at the lws to inquire to his Miller rep about events they plan to have a presence in the S.E.

Or you think they would move fabtech around more towards the east coast. Instead of just Vegas and Chicago, hwy not like Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta or Orlando or something. Might be good for them to move round more

I don't understand why New Orleans is not on the agenda. Not only is it central to almost everything oil-industry, but all the support industries are on the gulf coast as well. Add to that, New Orleans is an extremely popular destination with excellent venues to choose from, incredible food, amazing night life, tons of attractions, and even casinos for the Vegas crowd.

Sound like a sales pitch? It wasn't meant to, but it kind-of does... 8-)

Same with Orlando, maybe the sq ft isn't enough?

There has to be a building in every one of those towns big enough.

As for that pitch Steve, you should get a hold of someone-that could work on them. Seems like you have thought of this before...

The Morial Convention Center has over 1 million square feet of contiguous space and a full size theater on the third floor. If that won't hold Fabtech, it's too big for it's britches, and needs to divest into two or more smaller trade shows.
