That video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXBM7Tl ... ApS_m_6mPw , was fantastic. Jody, I hope that one of these days you have a chance to cruise somewhere close to the Virginia coastline. The Apprentice Schoolhttp://www.as.edu/ has just built a new educational facility. They specialize in training people in anything from welding, pipefitting, sheet metal work, heavy metal... the list goes on for building ships.. I am currently an apprentice there and it is a fantastic program that offers not only a trade, but also degree paths through local community colleges and universities. I think this is a tremendous opportunity for people to acquire a trade and earn their education as well.

That sounds very interesting. I hope I can visit sometime. Do you have any contact person that I could ask about a visit?

I'll call tomorrow and find out about their relations and tours. They have been advertising the school heavily in votec schools and high schools since the new building showed up.

OK, I got some information, my school sent me to the 'contact' tab at the bottom of the webpage. (757) 380-3809 would be the number to call for any information and then apprenticeschool@hii-nns.com would be the email to contact. hopefully this helps some folks for direction, This Apprentice School has been in operation since 1919, it is a solid place for people to learn a trade and also pursue academic careers.
