This isn't about this video, but for the latest one with stick v flux core overhead. Do you think that was a lamination in the plate when Jody etched it? He didn't mention it, although maybe he didn't want to distract from the video

At first I thought you were talking about the fit-up gap on the 3:00 member... didn't notice possible delam until you mentioned it. How does that happen, a flaw in the rolling process?

If that is what it is, yes, two layers of metal rolled onto each other but not under the correct fusion heat. The other way is the weld creates so much stress that it tears the base metal, called lamelar tearing. Jody would know about those things, so I doubt its it. Just a line. Mick
