I cannot speak for the machine itself and torch but the switch looks the same as the one on my Everlast machine. That switch can be used instead of the foot pedal and is basically an on off switch like on a mig gun. You set your amps where you want them, push the button in to start the arc and when you let off of the switch it stops. Some of the switches have adjustments on them but that one looks the same as the one on my torch so it is just an on off switch. Obviously Jody can answer it for you but that is my observation.
It's always best to build your own, especially when it comes to hitches!!!

yep, its a switch just like on everlast machines. When the metal is thick enough, its pretty easy to guess an amperage and then just set a couple of seconds of upslope and downslope time....and with zero upslope , its handy if you have to do lots of tack welding where you are dragging your pedal around something

best,
jody
