Please can someone give me some advice on how to weld a crack in my rv hot water tank?

You may want to offer up some more details like, what kind of metal it is, how thick is it, what kind of weld machines do you have access too, where is the crack or hole, what does the tank look like, is it corroded?

It was relayed to me that it's an aluminum 3/16 tank that was cracked from frozen water. If you had to use a spool gun what settings would you use?

It will be tough with a spool gun. The ones I've fixed are thin, like 18 gauge or smaller. I usually hammer them back in to shape and then just TIG them up. They are low pressure, so it's not all that difficult.

I believe the OP only has a spool gun.
