Thanks for a great site with loads of good information :D

I am pretty new to welding, but I have wanted to learn this skill for way to many years. Now is the time.

I just spent some days in Holland with my good friend Eric, the owner of HotRod Welding. He showed me the basics and now it is time to jump into the deep end.

I guess the first project will be a cart for my new Fronius, and take it from there

Actually the first project was made in Holland. A pen holder for Eric. I was told not to change career

Thanks a lot guys :D

For a newbee like me this is just the place to be.

Just ordered some more stuff today. A metal band saw and a Siegmund welding table. One can`t have to many tools ;) The only problem now is that my garage is not big enough. I`ll sort that one out later...

Grimstad, on the South Coast then.

If you need a quick start I have a good friends in Tönsberg that give classes. He runs Unneberg Bil but teach Metal shaping and welding too.
Give them a call if interested and ask for Karl-Fredrik.

Yeah, welcome Eltron!

I'm quite new here too, though did a lot of welding years ago as a vocation, but only more recently started TIG welding for personal stuff.

Is that Fronius of yours a TIG or MIG unit?

I've seen a floor model Fronius Pulse MIG unit on video that was really impressive on aluminum.
Peace be with you all,

Post up some details in n your machine. Fronius and kemppi are really nice machines. They usually exceed Lincoln and Miller in advanced feature and price set for equivalent machine.
I think the reason we don't see them in the USA is because they either don't want to or can't compete with the domestic brands on pricing.

Are you suggesting my TI99 4-A is outdated?

Thank you, Anders.

I might take you up on that.
