Hello everyone,
I recently bought a Thermal Arc 186 TIG welder. I've never TIG welded before getting this machine. I've been pouring over YouTube videos to learn some technique and have completed my first project, but not without several failures. Primarily welding 6160 aluminum so far.
Looking forward to your constructive criticism, tips and feedback.

Regards,
Neosec

Aluminum is very hard to learn to TIG weld straight away. I'd encourage you to start with steel, get some skills there, then switch to aluminum. But it's possible with enough practice, Argon, and plenty of patience.

I did it the hard way. I had my heart set on some aluminum projects, so I tried steel a bit, then went to aluminum. It's easier to weld steel first. Jumping straight to al is a baptism of fire. Good luck. I've been there myself not long ago. Watch Jody's videos, Bob Moffat, and ask questions on forums. It'll come pretty fast.
