Aloha everyone, Name is Del from Cental Oahu, Hawaii (20 miles north of Honolulu). I just want to get started in welding, probably flux core mig since I don't have any room in my garage for gas tanks. I probably barely could fit the welder in there. Looking for equipment but probably will pick up a Hobart Handler 140 to start. Welders on Hawaii Craigslist are either some offbrand I never heard of or used Miller or Lincoln for $2,000. The last time I welded was in high school auto shop back in 1980 using arc (stick) and oxyacetylene gas. Nothing since then.
I work on cars - just repairs and maintenance so no performance stuff, maybe when I retire in 10 years. I also cycle, fish, hike, some off roading and work around the house. I don't surf anymore I injured my shoulder 12 years ago (rotator cuff damage).
