I am an engineer who has been designing, building, modifying, and repairing oceanographic instruments and general stuff around the house for 40+ years. During Covid lockdown, I got a cheap Chinese HF start TIG welder that would let me do small stuff with minimal fire hazards. I have had a lot of fun and gotten marginally competent at TIG welding mild steel.
Now I have a YesWelder MP200 (from Kickstarter) and I am learning a bit of stick, MIG, and flux-core.
