Hey everyone,

My Name is Ben, I'm new to this welding form. I've been following Jody's youtube channel for a while now,and thought it would be a good idea to sign up on the forum to share techniques and connect with the welding community.

I own a small metal fabrication shop, where I do stainless steel fabrication, general metal work, and some industrial furniture as well. I also have done a few youtube videos on metal work. I plan to do more soon.

I also work at TechShop in San Francisco, CA as a welding and metal working instructor. For you that don't know what TechShop is, it's essentially a open maker space where members have a monthly membership to use the facility and the array of equipment. Before using the equipment you have to take a class to get certified in certain areas. I teach the classes.

I'm working on developing new classes at TechShop as well. The one I'm currently working on revolves around metal bending using a Hossfeld Bender, and a few other tools and methods. This would be a great place to share techniques with you guys. I'll post an update soon.

Look forward to sharing and learning on this forum!

Welcome, Ben! There's a TechShop near here too, which I 'd love to join. This one has a waterjet cutter that I'd like to see in action.

Welcome, Ben,

I love the TechShop concept and admire you for being a part of it. If it ever comes to where I live or work, I may have to participate.

I'm with Mike Rowe, in that America places too much emphasis on proffesions while ignoring trades. Trades ARE the manufacturing and construction sector.
