Homemade crankshaft postion sensor stator?

In which case the missing tooth tells the computer "the next signal is TDC #1" or something like that, to maintain synchronization.

Valid point Steve, however I don't remember the moving components being called a stator :)

I'd call it a reluctor wheel if I were going to call it anything, or a tone wheel. MSD and AEM call it a trigger wheel.

Ouch!

Yeah, a "stator" is a static part. "Reluctor wheel" would be a better descirption.

Looks like a trigger wheel to me...lol

I've been thinking about trying to talk my employer into letting me buy one of those build kits an use our Hypertherm 85 to gain a plasma table....man I see a ton of uses.
I weld stainless, stainless and more stainless...Food Industry, sanitary process piping, vessels, whatever is needed, I like to make stuff.

The plasma green works well, I ran out of slat material so I skipped over some

I add plasma green 1050 to the water table to keep corrosion down and it's also a biocide
