Hi Folks,
When cutting with heat from Oxy Acetylene or plasma, why do some of the cuts melt back together? I'm sure it's a sign that I'm either setting the gas or machine up wrong, or operator failure.
Thanks!

I asked this very question back when I was younger. It's not actually melting back together, it's the oxide not being jetted away properly from the kerf. It's a matter of proper pressure, tip cleaning.

This pic is from ESAB (Victor) cutting torch guide. Using the correct size tip, having the right gas pressures, and cutting technique will be some joy, this info is in the PDF.
