I have a external air filter/regulator mounted on the back of my plasma cutter. Is there any reason I couldn't bypass the internal filter?
The internal filter has a air leak that I can't seem to stop.
As long as you’re external filter exceeds the manufacturer specs then I can’t even see a reason they wouldn’t warranty it if it fails. After you remove the leaking internal one.

That's what I was thinking. The machine is out of warranty anyway, so that's not a worry.
