What gap, land, rod, amperage??? thickness of plate???
Just a couple welders and a couple of big hammers and torches.

You mentioned "whip and pause", so I assume this is a stick test, 6010 root?

More information, please!

I like a 1/16 land and gap around 77 amps but i don't get that often. Learn what you like first and then learn to deal with what you are given.
