I've been wondering about this I've been using a shade 10 lens for welding all kinds of different stuff but lately the more I weld with it the more it seems like during mid day or really bright days its almost like I'm just lookin threw a really dark pair of sunglasses? Anyone tell me why this is happening its not a very old helmet but seems to be the first that has where done this to me thanks for any help

Is it a self-darkening type?

It is probably the sunlight entering the back/sides of the helmet.
stick a light (lbs) dark rag to it
