We got 3 of these helmets a couple of months ago at school and I've done mig, tig, stick, flux core, and torch welding with the helmet and I have to say it somewhat surprised me. The helmets were $70 on sale and farm and fleet. For mig, flux core, and stick it worked fairly well only minor flickering with stick. For average house use it is a nice helmet. It works well with plasma cutting as well with the grind mode. The main issue is tig. It flickers a lot at any amperage if you don't have it dialed in perfect. That is the other problem. All of the controls are loose knobs in the outside of the helmet that move easily. For a weekend diy it's great but if your doing any heaving welding especially tig buy a more expensive helmet.
A student now but really want to weld everyday. Want to learn everything about everything. Want to become a knower of all and master of none.
