Passed my first bend test for school tonight. V groove with a backing strap welded with 7018.

Well done!

Funny how a face-bend shows you the edge of the weld, isn't it? It's the difference in hardness between the parent metal and the filler that makes those little lines show up.

What position was the weld?

Flat. I'm in a two year course that will cover stick, mig, and tig. I had some core ed classes also, math, English, computers, and psychology. Should be looking for a job doing stick by Christmas.
